International Blues Challenge Live Broadcasts
This year, for the first time ever, you can follow the events unfolding in Memphis, TN during the International Blues Challenge without being in Memphis.
Music On The Couch, in agreement with The Blues Foundation, will be broadcasting 27 live hours, during 9 shows over 5 days Live from the Rum Boogie Cafe, located right on historic Beale Street.
Music On The Couch streams live over the BlogTalk Radio Network on computers and smart phones. Each show is then archived to a pod-cast available for free through links at Music On The Couch, BlogTalk Radio and even iTunes.
Owner/Host Vinny “Bond” Marini will be conducting interviews and playing music by the entrants while also speaking with Blues Foundation Officials, Blues fans in town for the event and the multitude of great musicians who descend upon Memphis each year for this event.
Throughout January, Music On The Couch featured interviews with 6 past IBC winners including Grady Champion, Trampled Under Foot, “Little” Joe McLerran, JP Soars, Nathan James and Sean Carney. Those shows, as are all shows, can be accessed at Music On The Couch.
Largest Blues Gathering Ever!
The IBC will be held January 31- February 4 2012 in 20 venues in the Beale Street Historic District. That is 5 days consisting of over 575 performances by 226 acts.
The 2012 challenge will bring 748 musicians from 40 states and a record 16 countries to downtown Memphis, Tennessee for the largest gathering of Blues artists…in the history of the World!
